I have been a serious photographer for decades and thought I knew a lot about photography techniques. I learned many things from Jan in the photography clinic that he conducted yesterday. I will remember many valuable tips that he shared with us about street photography and endeavor to use them effectively.

Had the most amazing day learning camera settings and compositions with Jan. He is patient and easy to understand when he explains things. He made the day fun while learning new techniques. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to improve their photography skills.

Jan communicated well and to the point. Very knowledgable on his subject matters.
I was in Jan's street photography workshop.
We met in a coffee shop in Huntington Beach. Jan explained the schedule and goals for the day. He then covered the technical aspect of photography. What points we needed to pay attention to. We then headed to the pier.
The day went by very quickly. Jan knew where the actions could be. Gave us pointers on settings and what to look for to take a picture.
At lunch time he covered more about street photography.
Our street photography continued until we were all done.
The day ended but the workshop had not. We will send our pictures to Jan. Then Jan will arrange an online meeting to critique our works.
It was an eventful day and I feel I am now more confident to take pictures of strangers.

I took a workshop with Jan back in July, down at the HB pier. I'm pretty new to photography and have been trying to learn by myself via YouTube videos and anything else I can find online. I was kind of hitting a wall and struggling a bit on my own to progress and just wasn't really happy with my pictures, or with my understanding of setting my camera correctly. A friend of mine had done a class with Jan and recommended him. After about 2 hours working with Jan I finally felt like I had the basics down that I'd been struggling with. I HIGHLY recommend taking one of Jan's workshops. Based on that one session, I plan on booking another one with Jan in the next month or so, possibly more.
Oh,,, if anyone is wondering, I'm running the Sony Alpha 7 IV with the FE 24-70MM f/2.8 GM II lens.
